Credit Card Gifts

Most gifts to the Optimist International Foundation of Canada are cash contributions, allowing donors the ability to receive full tax benefits if they itemize. For the donor’s convenience, the Canadian Foundation also accepts Mastercard and Visa.

Restricted and Unrestricted Gifts

The majority of the Canadian Foundation gift support is unrestricted. This permits the Canadian Foundation to use such funds where they are most urgently needed and to respond to new opportunities and initiatives as they occur. Donors may, however, choose to designate gifts for one or more of the specific programs supported by the Canadian Foundation. Any gift may be given on a confidential basis and/or made anonymously. The donor may direct the Executive Director specifically on how such gifts are to be handled.

Matching Gifts

Many companies have Matching Gift Programs in which the company will double, and sometimes triple, the amount the employee contributes to a qualifying nonprofit organization. Check with your employer for specific guidelines and appropriate forms.

Securities Gifts

To make a gift of stock, please call the OIFC office (800-500-8130) for the numbers necessary to make an electronic transfer.

Bequests

A bequest is a transfer, by will, of personal property such as cash, securities or other tangible property to the Optimist International Foundation. For additional information on including the Foundation in your will, click here.
