Planned Giving
The
Friends of Tomorrow Society recognizes members that have arranged a charitable
bequest to the Optimist International Foundation of Canada. A bequest provides for the
future needs of Optimist International programs and the Optimist International
Foundation of Canada.
A donor may choose to benefit the Canadian Foundation, and themselves, using one or more of the following gift planning devices:
Bequests
A bequest is a transfer, by will, of personal property such as cash, securities or other tangible property to the Optimist International Foundation of Canada. A bequest is simply a charitable gift of property to be delivered at the time of the donor’s death. A bequest provides donors the opportunity to make a significant gift to support an organization they hold dearly, and create a legacy in their name at the same time. Bequests can be funded in a number of ways. Donors may give a spefic amount or percentage of their estate, or the remainder of their estate after bills are paid and specific bequests are fulfilled.
Insurance Policy Gifts
Gifts of insurance policies to a charity are tax-deductible and are often an affordable way to make a substantial gift. Donors can irrevocably transfer ownership of an existing policy to the Optimist International Foundation of Canada.
** The above are simple definitions of certain legal instruments. Prospective Planned Giving donors should consult with their financial advisor or attorney for assistance in entering into any of these arrangements.
