Club Fundraising
The
Optimist International Foundation of Canada makes every effort to extend its resources
to the member Clubs of Optimist International, to assist them in obtaining
locally based financial support. By lending its status as a charity
to Clubs through programs like the Outsourcing Programt, the Canadian Foundation has been instrumental in providing local
program funding to Clubs. To learn how your Club can put these resources to

OIFC is a registered charitable organization under the Canadian and Quebec tax laws. As such, it can organize and implement various charitable activities and use its resources to this effect and can issue official receipts for tax purposes to the people to whom it directs its campaign in order to finance these activities.
The Optimist Clubs of Canada, for their part, can also implement different programs in order to help their community and organize fund raising campaigns. However, since they are not registered charitable organizations under the tax laws, they cannot issue official receipts for tax purposes to the Donors.
Being able to offer an official tax receipt may sometimes encourage a Donor to increase the amount of their contribution.
Thus, with the approval of the Canada Customs and Revenue Agency as well as Revenu Québec , OIFC has implemented the "Outsourcing Program" in order to help the Clubs optimize the financing of their programs. This program allows Clubs to finance the projects they cherish while allowing the Donors to benefit from an official tax receipt. The Club acts as an agent for the OIFC to accomplish this, and must complete an Outsourcing Agreement before fundraising can begin.
