This year we invite you to join the Optimist International Foundation of Canada in a race for the kids. When we have circled the track and made all our laps, we want to have raised $300,000 in unrestricted gifts and scholarship.
Let’s start the race with as many gifts as possible in first quarter. Join your District Foundation Representatives by qualifying for your 2010 Dime-A-Day pin. Your gift of $40 – we don’t like to carry coins for change, eh – helps the Foundation support Optimism. We need at least 80 Dime-A-Day gifts per District. Let’s win that heat in the first quarter.
We also have a special race for Clubs. Claim your $365 Club banner patch with your unrestricted gift totaling a Dollar a Day.
Wear your racing colors and show your years of consecutive membership with your Presidents Club pin. Renew early and wear your pin and number all year long.
Our race this year carries a special challenge: scholarships. Optimist International has raised the scholarship for the oratorical, essay and CCDHH contests in 2010 to $2,500 each. The Foundation has pledged to support them in this. These new scholarships may be named by the donors. Funding a scholarship is a great tribute to an outstanding Optimist or remembrance of one who has passed on.
We have many goals in this race. Don’t wait for the white flag. Join in now. The race this year, as always, is for the kids. Put the pedal to the metal and let’s go!
